New Delhi: A diary belonging to former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda shows names of various politicians with monetary transactions with them.
A case was registered against Koda and eight others by the Enforcement Directorate of IT department on October 10 for alleged money laundering, diversion of state funds and indulging in huge illegal investments abroad.
The diary also has a name Lalu written on it. Transactions have been made on his name also.
“Fortunately the investigation is going towards the right direction. We have the list of names from the diary. We have extracted the names of some politicians who have been beneficiary like Lalu''s name was written in the diary. That is a part of the High Court''s record.
“We cannot say who exactly is Lalu but he must be someone who is behind making or damaging the government. Payments must have been made to him," said Rajeev Kumar, a lawyer of the Ranchi High Court.
However, RJD chief Lalu Prasad told reporters that investigations should be carried out on all those whose names are mentioned in the diary.
“It''s good. If the diary has been found, investigations should be carried out on all those people whose names are mentioned in the diary''s pages. It shows everyone must have been part of this crime,” said Lalu Prasad.
Officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of India''s Income Tax (IT) Department have sealed Koda''s residence at Ranchi.
Later, Koda complained of health complications such as pain in his abdomen, giddiness, nausea, and vomiting, and was admitted in a city hospital on Tuesday (November 03).
The former state chief minister has been shifted from ICU to general ward on Thursday (November 05).
