Yousuf, Younis should approach court: Inzamam to Pak Cricket players

Inzamam
Karachi: Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul- Haq on Wednesday said senior players Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan, who have been barred by the PCB from team for an indefinite period, should approach court challenging the decision.

"Younis and Yousuf should go to court to challenge the decision," Inzamam said.

Inzamam also feels that by imposing a one-year ban on former skipper Shoaib Malik and Rana Naved-ul Hasan, Pakistan Cricket Board has set a bad precedent before the young players.

"This is not a good decision for Pakistan cricket. The board is not setting a good example before young cricketers," Inzamam told reporters.

"I don't understand the thinking that led the board to take such a decision. What sort of message are we delivering to the world by taking such decisions at a time when nobody is agreeing to come to Pakistan to play cricket?" he asked.

The curious case of the IPL Icons
PCB today took the decisions in the wake of the team's disastrous tour of Australia, during which they were whitewashed in all the three formats of the game.

PCB had set up an inquiry committee headed by Wasim Bari to probe the reasons for the debacle.

As recommended by the committee, the Akmal brothers -- Kamran and Umar -- and Afridi have been put on probation for six months besides being fined between Rs 2-3 million for indiscipline on the tour.
