Geesukonda (Warangal): Known Jagan loyalists, the Konda couple, used YSR’s birth a n n ive r - sary to showcase their love for the family by disc u s s i n g strategies in the event of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy deciding to break away from the Congress.
Sources said former minister Konda Surekha and her MLC-husband Konda Murali along with followers were closeted in Manukonda village in Geesukonda mandal on Thursday to discuss their future plan. They made no bones about their loyalty to the YSR family by distributing clothes, books and food packets to villagers to celebrate YSR’s birth anniversary.
Sources said following reports that the Konda followers were distributing clothes to the rural poor, district nodal officer for the bylections, Ramana Rao ordered his staff to video-record the programme. “We are discussing with the state election commission whether it comes under the purview of violation of the model code of conduct,” Rao said.
In Mahbubabad, local MLA Malothu Kavitha distributed bedsheets to the poor on the occasion.
