Sammy and Ali are two bosom pals. Everything they do, they do together and are highly dependent on each other. Story of 1920
The story in short: Rajneesh and ada are lovers who get married. Rajneesh is an architect and he is selected from his company to bring down an old castle somewhere in India and build it into a hotel. But there is a spirit that resides there that does not allow this to happen. In fact, two architects have been killed but Rajneesh and his wife are not aware of it. Ada gets possessed by this spirit and therein begins the story. · Director seems to be redeeming himself with this horror flick... everything seems to be going fine till just before the intermission, when in comes Rakhi Sawant to take away the intensity of the fear that he was just building up. · No, there is nothing wrong with the Sawant girl, but just that Bhatt's choice of introducing an item song, if I may be permitted to call it so, and more importantly choice of performer, falls flat on the screen. Rakhi comes with a lot of baggage of 'trying to be there' and this exact weight of hers does not allow her to carry off the scene. Also, he was just building up the scare. A very jarring aberration. · He shoots in London and tells you that that piece of irresistible architectural beauty, the castle he is shooting in, is somewhere in India. Very, very annoying. A punch in the nose for the viewer. · The choice of the lead actors is very good. Rajneesh Duggal and Ada Sharma give out great performances. In fact, Ada as the one possessed, gives off a performance as one possessed!! A terrifying debut. She has beauty, which dates back to the 1920s, is dressed accordingly and carries off her part with intensity.
A word of mention for Anjori Alagh, too. First she stares down at you from a huge painting, then she walks on screen to seduce the villain and the viewer! · A word of mention here for the set and costume designers. They have done well to give one a feeling of being there in the early 1900s · Bhatt has shown well the way Ada is possessed, her behaviour, menacing talking, her fearful lunges. But he has tried too many things to show how she is cured of her demonic spirit. · What he has shown, in the end, is what he thinks is the way the ones possessed are delivered. This can be debated endlessly. In effect, he brings to nought what he has been trying to build up. ·

Obese women exercise phobia suffers Obese women
Obese women might be suffering from a phobia of exercise, driven by the feeling of self-consciousness that prevents them from being physically active, say researchers.
Scientists from the Centre for Obesity Research and Education and the department of kinesiology at Temple University have found that obese women face a significant number of barriers when it comes to exercise including self-consciousness, fear of injury, having minor aches or pains.
"This is the first time we've been able to systematically look at what stops obese women from getting the activity they need," said Melissa Napolitano, associate professor of kinesiology and clinical psychologist at the Centre for Obesity Research and Education at Temple University.
During the study, the research team surveyed data collected from 278 women, both normal weight and obese, enrolled in a yearlong physical activity encouragement study.
At baseline, and at a 3- and 12-month follow up, all participants were administered a questionnaire to determine what factors kept them from getting exercise, including feeling self-conscious, not wanting to fail, fearing injury, perceived poor health, having minor aches or pains and feeling too overweight to exercise.
They found that, at all time points, obese women reported greater barriers to being active than normal weight women.
For obese women, barriers they identified at the beginning of the study predicted how much or how little they would be exercising at the 12-month follow-up.
"These might sound like excuses to some people, but for those who have these aversions, they're real problems," said Napolitano.
She said that tailoring programs to manoeuvre around these barriers is the key to curbing some of that aversion and improving adherence to a weight loss goal.
"There is an underlying attitude about weight loss, that it's easy if you just eat less and exercise more," she said.
"But if losing weight were easy, we wouldn't have the obesity epidemic we have today," she added.
McCain, Obama, and both laugh togetheron the joke's
You can't imagine Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Opposition leader L.K. Advani doing it. But rival US presidential candidates, who are running a hard fought and often bitter campaign, sat down at a dinner table and swapped self-deprecating jokes.
Republican John McCain Thursday said he had replaced his team of senior advisers with 'Joe the Plumber', referring to an actual Ohio man he invoked several times in the last presidential debate Wednesday to argue that his rival wants higher taxes on people like Joe.
Democrat Barack Obama claimed his own greatest strength would be 'my humility' in reference to his image of being arrogant.
Obama said: 'Contrary to the rumours you have heard, I was not born in a manger. I was actually born on Krypton and sent here by my father, Jor-El, to save the planet Earth,' in a reference to Superman.
McCain quipped that Democrats had already begun attacking Joe the Plumber.
'What they don't know is that Joe the Plumber recently signed a very lucrative contract with a wealthy couple to handle all the work on all seven of their houses,' McCain said, alluding to a flap he caused earlier this year when he was unable to remember how many homes he and his wife Cindy own.
He also referred to one awkward moment in the second presidential debate when he disdainfully referred to Obama as 'that one'.
'He doesn't mind at all,' McCain continued, 'In fact, he even has a pet name for me: George Bush.' In the last debate, McCain countered Obama comparing his rival's economic policies with Bush and asserted, 'I am not George Bush'.
Obama said his first name actually meant 'that one' in Swahili.
Turning serious, Obama said, looking towards McCain: 'I think it is a tribute to American democracy that with two weeks left and a hard-fought election, the two of us could come together and sit down at the same dinner table without pre-conditions.'
The occasion was the 63rd annual Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner, a charity event organised by the Catholic Archdiocese of New York for the benefit of needy children.
The event often draws politicians as speakers and, traditionally, presidential candidates appear as lead speakers every four years. But this time, the evening of humour starring White House claimants came one night after the final, intense presidential debate.

Karz
The day of reckoning for Himesh Reshammiya. His film, Karzzzzz is set to release today. This film will prove to be an acid test for Reshammiya.
Karzzz, which is a remake of the original Karz directed by Subhash Ghai, has been directed by Satish Kaushik, and will be Reshammiya's second release as a hero. The film assumes importance because it is Himesh's chance to prove that he is no fluke as an actor and neither was the success of Aap Ka Suroor, his debut acting venture. Hence, there is a lot resting on his shoulders. Adding to the pressure is the fact that he knows that he has to live up to some very high standards in acting and dancing. After all, the hero of the original Karz was Rishi Kapoor, surely one of the most accomplished actors that we have around. Then there were his boyish good looks. Himesh knows that he has neither Rishi's looks nor charm. Hence, it now remains to be seen how he has managed to mould himself into the role of Monty. That's not all. Himesh has composed the music for the film and sung most of its songs as well. It will be remembered that the Ghai film had music by composers Laxmikant Pyarelal, music which was a hit. That's another legend that he is pitting himself against. Hence, if Himesh is nervous today, one knows that there is a lot at stake here for him. He has already gone official with his statement that he is hardly at par with Rishi, having neither his looks nor talent. Sharing screen space with Himesh will be debutante Shweta Kumar and Urmila Matondkar.
Hello movie review
Hello is yet another movie from KHAN Khandan.. Hello… is a tale about the events that happen one night at a call center. Told through the views of the protagonist, Shyam, it is a story of almost lost love, thwarted ambitions, absence of family affection, pressures of a patriarchal set up, and the work environment of a globalized office. Shyam is losing his girl friend because his career is going nowhere as he trudges his way around in a call center. His girl friend, Priyanka, is also an agent like him at the call center who is about to be snatched by an NRI technogeek. There is also the aspiring model, Esha, who is hoping for the break that seems to be always already eluding her and the man about town, Vroom, who is into well, things. The housewife, Radhika, who is constantly at the receiving end of her mother-in-law and a beleaguered grandfather, Military Uncle, who has been barred from interacting with his grandchild make up the rest of the call agents who see their worlds crumbling around them as the decisions of right sizing are conveyed by Bakshi, the boss. It is a night when dreams will finally crumble. Or will it? For there is that call from God. Narrated as a tale within a tale as a beautiful woman meets the auteur narrator and promises him a story on the condition that he has to narrate it further, Hello, based on Chetan Bhagat's one night @ the call center, is the one remarkable story from Tales from a Thousand and One globalizing, urban, Indian Nights.

His ability to write persuasive letters makes him popular with the largely non-literate population of the town. Aware of this power, he soon uses his talent to manipulate people with amusing and sometimes not such amusing results.
With this as the narrative frame, Welcome to Sajjanpur shows in an entertaining, musical and comic way, characters and events that are at once hilarious and poignant. A delightful satirical take on a contemporary Indian village.
Contract a big Flop
Contract Film made by RGV is another attempt to portrait Underworld links and bombay.
Ram Gopal Varma has not yet learned his lesson... When you make a film about the Mumbai underground a script is necessary! After awe-striking India with Satya and Company, Ram Gopal Verma started to wither away... he believed that he could make hit films without putting in the effort or passion he so willingly used in Satya and Company, only to find out that his next seven films would all be flops (save Sarkar). The problem is not in the directing, but the acting and writing... the dialogue in RGV lately has gotten to be so terrible that audiences can tell the actors feel awkward and ashamed in reciting it on the big screen. Contract is another RGV disappointment.... the acting is shabby, the script and dialogue are childish, and the action is trying to copy that of Martin Scorcese, but falls very very short on all aspects. We can only hope that RGV steps up his game, otherwise the Bachchan clan are the only people who are going to keep him employed in Bollywood.
i hope better visuals from RGV Factory..
Sushmita Sen has done it again

They knew each other as friends for a while but got close during the shooting of Dulha Mil Gaya in Trinidad. Friendship soon turned into romance and the duo has been spotted going out together. Sushmita Sen plays a supermodel in Dulha while SRK plays a business tycoon who is her boyfriend. Fardeen has been paired opposite a new girl.
Hemamalini at Sweet 60
On the eve of her 60th birthday, Bollywood 'dream girl' Hema Malini says she is thrilled to play erstwhile Gwalior queen Vijayraje Scindia in the movie 'Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi', but says unlike her other films the role needed a lot of preparation and she had to spend considerable time with the Scindia family.
'I'm honoured to be playing the Rajmata. Do you know she was the founder of the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and today I'm a proud member of the BJP and getting a chance to play her on screen,' Hema told IANS.
'I think this role requires a fair amount of preparation. Something I haven't done for too many of my characters except 'Razia Sultan' and 'Meera'. Both were very close to my heart. And now I think this will be the third role that's very close to my heart,' she added.
To be directed by Gulbahar Singh, 'Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi' went on the floor Tuesday. It will be made in close collaboration with the Scindias.
'Though I didn't know the great lady personally, I've known her late son Madhavrao Scindia (late Congress leader) and her daughter Vasundhara (BJP leader and Rajasthan chief minister) quite well through my parliamentary work.
'In fact, I had been to Gwalior last year in summer with my daughter Ahana for a dance performance on the invitation of Madhavraoji's son Jyotiraditya Scindia. My colleagues in parliament were outraged. 'How could you go at his invitation when he's from the Congress?' But I think culture and art should be put above politics, don't you think?'

KIDNAP fails to grip you and that is its biggest flaw
When you carry the baggage of super-successful films like DHOOM and DHOOM 2, the expectations from your subsequent outing is bound to be gargantuan. Unfortunately, KIDNAP falls short of expectations. You expect a seven course meal, but you're served mere crumbs.
When you carry the baggage of super-successful films like DHOOM and DHOOM 2, the expectations from your subsequent outing is bound to be gargantuan. Unfortunately, KIDNAP falls short of expectations. You expect a seven course meal, but you're served mere crumbs.
KIDNAP comes close to ZINDA in terms of plotline. There're similarities between the two films. But KIDNAP isn't as dark and gruesome as ZINDA. Also, KIDNAP loses focus after a promising start.
The hallmark of any revenge fare is the suspense quotient. In this case, there's a motive behind what Imran does. And money is definitely not the motive here. So far, so good. But the purpose of kidnapping the billionaire's only daughter as also the chain of events that lead to the culmination is such a put-off. Things keep deteriorating as they reach the finale.
he culprit? Obviously, the writer of this lifeless, unexciting and tedious drama. Shibani seems to think that the audience is pea-brained.
Silver lining or just dark clouds? Imran Khan's splendid act acts as a soothing balm, but if the pudding is tasteless, no amount of dressing can salvage the situation, right?
When Dr. Mallika [Vidya Malvade] asks her daughter Sonia [Minissha Lamba] what she wants for her 18th birthday, Sonia tells her she wants to meet her dad, Vikrant Raina [Sanjay Dutt]. The mother and father of this kid have separated, we're explained at the very outset. After a spat between the mother and daughter, Sonia walks off in a huff and doesn't return.
Mallika panics when she gets a call from a stranger that he has kidnapped Sonia. The kidnapper, Kabir [Imran Khan], has only one demand -- he will negotiate with nobody but Sonia's father, Vikrant.
Reluctantly Mallika brings Vikrant back into their lives to save Sonia. But Vikrant chokes at the thought of taking orders from a criminal. But Kabir holds the trump card -- he holds Sonia -- and Vikrant knows he has no option but to toe the line.
Kabir tells him they are going to play a game -- just the two of them. Vikrant has to play by the rules set by Kabir and he has to play alone. He has to play to save his daughter. If he even utters the words 'Hello Police', it will be Bye Bye for Sonia!
Because his daughter's life is at stake, a reluctant Vikrant agrees to obey Kabir's orders...
Never judge a book by its cover. This adage suits KIDNAP to the T. One look at its promos and you know what the story is, but the screenplay is so amateurish, even lifeless at times, that you scream, no, no, no, no, no!
Gadhvi and Shibani open the cards at the very outset. The sketches at the very beginning as also Minissha's kidnap within 10 minutes of the start compels you to think that the follow up should be equally exhilarating. But things start going wrong from this part onwards.
Imran's clues for Sanju, the first in a train and later at an engagement ceremony, make no sense. Later, Sanju and Vidya Malvade's entry in the jail is bizarre. This part takes you back to the cinema of 1970s and 1980s, when nonsense dominated. Later, when Sanju refuses to take Imran's call, Imran lands up at his house. Which kidnapper, in his right senses, would ever do that? Even the flashback -- Imran's childhood portions -- are just not impactful. Ditto for the climax. The shootout at the New Year party is ridiculous. Seriously, the writing is pathetic!
Sanjay Gadhvi is letdown by a script that easily ranks amongst the worst of 2008. Pritam's music is another sore point. Barring the 'Mit Jaaye' track, the remaining songs are lacklustre. Bobby Singh's camerawork is first-rate.
KIDNAP belongs to Imran Khan. Watch this youngster take giant strides and you know that he has arrived. He carries the cold look effortlessly. Sanjay Dutt looks disinterested, as if he is about to break into a yawn. Minissha Lamba is miscast. She doesn't look like a 17-year-old in the first place. Also, the generous dose of skin show doesn't gel with someone who's held captive. Vidya Malvade is efficient. Reema Lagoo is a mere prop. Rahul Dev's character looks forced.
On the whole, KIDNAP fails to grip you and that is its biggest flaw. At the box-office, KIDNAP being teen sensation Imran Khan's immediate release after the blockbuster hit JAANE TU... YA JAANE NA would ensure a strong opening weekend, but the poor merits are sure to take a toll once the initial euphoria subsides. Disappointing!
DRONA is a big film in all respects
Fantasy/adventure films are a rarity in Bollywood. Actually, you want to laud Goldie Behl for being courageous, for venturing into a lane that's rarely visited by dream merchants here. But the screenplay is a complete mess. In fact, if at all there would be Razzies in Bollywood, the three writers of DRONA -- Jaydeep Sarkar, Rohini Killough and Goldie Behl -- should be nominated proto for coming up with a sloppy and slipshod screenplay.
DRONA is a big film in all respects -- big stars, big canvas, big expenditure on SFX, big ad spend, big expectations. Sadly, it's a big, big, big letdown as well.
What saddens your heart is the fact that the Lullas of Eros and Shrishti Arya, the producers of DRONA, have spared no efforts in giving DRONA a spectacular look. The vision is perfect, but how about narrating an absorbing and attention-grabbing story? You remember DRONA for its striking visuals, not storyline. It's like embellishing priceless and precious jewels on a mannequin.
What's wrong? Goldie Behl and his writers can't decide if DRONA is a superhero film or fantasy. Although the makers have been maintaining all along that it's not about a superhero, the fact is, it is. In DRONA, the protagonist does everything that a superhero does. However, the lead character would only look more powerful if the anti-hero is equally authoritative. Surprisingly, the negative force here [Kay Kay Menon] is more of a buffoon than a villain.
More minusses! Dhruv Ghanekar's music is a big yawn. The tunes are listless and the placement of songs is equally jarring. Also, the length is a problem. You wouldn't mind a 3-hour film even today, provided it has the power to keep you glued to the screen. In this case, the 2 + hours seem never-ending. The film goes on and on and after a point, you actually want to scream, 'Enough!'.
On the whole, DRONA lacks soul. At the box-office, the publicity blitzkrieg might ensure good returns in its opening 4-day weekend, but the cracks should start appearing sooner than expected, since the film fails to keep you hooked. Its fall is imminent!
Tips for Online dating
Dress up your Body
* Don't wear empire-waist tops.
* Wear blouses that fit at the bust, but are not too clingy. Menswear is trendy this season and will give you the fit you desire. "The delicate balance of masculine and feminine touches also looks great with suits," writes Suze Yalof Schwartz, of Glamour magazine.
* Pay attention to the collars of tops — your best bets are v-neck, boat, and collared. "Attention to detail around the neck area elongates the neck," adds Yalof Schwartz.
* Match your upper half with pants that are either normal or wide-leg to create the perfect proportion.
* Wrap tops and dresses are ideal for your body type — thank goodness for the crossover effect.
* Invest in a long coat as the weather begins to get a little chilly.
* Choose long-lapelled jackets.
* Wear darker colors on the bottom, and play with brighter and lighter colors on top.

Most plus-size women are hourglass, apple or pear shaped. However, here are some great tips that work for women of every size:

* Bring attention to your waist by cinching it at the smallest part with a great scarf or low-slung leather belt.
* Play with patterns and color, including metallics, but remember to match the size of the patterns to the body size and the chosen color to your complexion.
*Vertical stripes are truly a woman's best friend.
*Dress in this season's hottest cardigans, whether one button or three buttons.
*Layer your tops to give the illusion of a smaller frame.
*Purchase blouses with neckline detail.
* Monotone outfits in rich fall colors can be just as effective as wearing all black to create a slimming look.
* Try shopping online to find more options for fuller-figured women.
*Invest in proper undergarments and body shapers, if you feel necessary.
* Pair any outfit with a thin high-heeled shoe.
* Wear clothes with a little bit of stretch.
* Choose wide-leg pants with a long hem that cover all but the front of your shoe.
If You Have a Boyish Figure:
* Bring attention to your natural curves.
* Steer clear of cropped clothing and go for clothing that will elongate you.
* Pick items that are voluminous, including trapeze dresses and baby doll blouses.
* Dress with ruffles, ruching and detailing around the bust.
* Wear skirts because girl you've got the body for them - pencil skirts are our favorite for this season.
* You want to make your waist defined to trick the eye into thinking you are curvier than you might be.
* You can go crazy with patterns and textures, so wear the popular tweed and plaid this fall.
* Dress in color.
* Try spaghetti straps to bring attention to your neck and shoulders.
* Purchase straighter leg/classic shaped jeans and trousers.
* Make friends with the v-neck collar, as it is the universal collar for all body types.
* Show a little skin.

Obese to pay for their own healthcare
As the annual cost of treating preventable diseases hits 5 billion dollars in Australia, State Government has proposed a plan, under which obese people may have to pay for their own healthcare.
Treating preventable medical conditions caused by obesity, smoking, alcohol and sun exposure consumes Queensland's health system's almost 5 billion dollars a year.
According to new Queensland Government figures, so-called 'lifestyle diseases' also cost the economy a further 22 billion dollars in lost productivity and social factors, including lost earnings and the cost to carers.
The cost of treating these preventable conditions will wipe out 57 per cent of the state's record 8.35 billion dollars health budget for 2008-2009.
The govt said that it's time for individuals to take more responsibility for their health.
And therefore, conservatives in the State Government have put forward a plan that includes a user-pays health system for the obese.
The govt is also considering compulsory health checks for three and four-year-olds at childcare centres around the state.
The plan is to spot any signs of chronic disease early and provide advice to parents.
"We're facing a tsunami of chronic disease in the coming years, thanks to lifestyle changes and our rapidly ageing population," the Courier Mail quoted Queensland Health Minister Stephen Robertson, as saying.
"Queenslanders need to realise they face an increasing financial burden from preventable chronic diseases.
'Toy'-ing with sexual lows in middle-aged couples
Scientists now tell us that they have zeroed in on the bodily chemistry that makes couples sexually attractive to each other, last, at most, two years.
The climb down from lust to cuddles couples experience as their relationship grows is caused by hormonal changes, The Telegraph quotes scientists from Italy's University of Pisa as saying.
Just in case such couples, at least in Britain, are wondering how to enhance their sexual feelings, there is a collection of sex toys from Philips awaiting them shortly.
The Italian researchers tested the levels of the hormones called neutrophins in the blood of volunteers who were rated on a passionate love scale. Levels of these chemical messengers were much higher in those who were in the early stages of romance.
But in people who had been with their partners for between one and two years, these so-called 'love molecules' had gone, even though the relationship had survived.
The scientists found that the lust molecule was replaced by the so-called 'cuddle hormone' - oxytocin - in couples who had been together for several years. Oxytocin, is a chemical that induces labour and milk-production in new and pregnant mothers.
Donatella Marazziti, who led the research team, said: 'If lovers swear their feelings to be ever-lasting, the hormones tell a different story.'
Similar research conducted by Enzo Emanuele at the University of Pavia found that levels of a chemical messenger called nerve growth factor (NGF) increased with romantic intensity. After one to two years, NGF levels had reduced to normal.
But one psychologist warned the hormone shift can be wrongly seen as negative.
Said Petra Boynton of the British Psychological Society: 'This feeds into a 1970s view that when you meet it's all sparky, and then it's a downward trajectory to cuddles - which is seen as negative. I'm concerned that, having identified these hormones, there will be some move to suggest replacements to recreate the early passion.'
It is conjecture whether Dutch multinational Philips is aware of Boynton's remark. Nevertheless, the company has announced it will launch a 'tasteful' sex toy range for middle-aged British couples called Relationship Care in Selfridges and Boots stores.
Jayson Otke, a Philips spokesman, said the products are designed to enhance couples' sexual well-being, and specifically target the hitherto 'neglected' group of sex toy users aged between 35 and 55.
The three new products will be called collectively the Intimate Massage Range, consisting of the Warm Intimate Massage, the Warm Massage and the Intimate Dual Massage.
Otke told BBC News: 'They are attractive to look at, targeted at the over-35 market, designed like beautiful stones with contours that vibrate and in a tasteful purple case. You would not be embarrassed to leave the product in full view of the family. The products are marketed for couples, are non-penetrative, not phallic shaped and are not meant to replace the partner but to enhance the sex life of both partners.'
The company is so confident about its new venture that it is predicting a 55-million-pound (over $98 million) profit in its first 12 months of trading.
Brainy men get the best sex
The research led by Mark Prokosch, an evolutionary psychologist at Elon University in North Carolina suggests that women looking for both one-night stands and long-term relationships go for good looking and intelligent men.
"Women want the best of both worlds. Not only a physically attractive man, but somebody in the long term who can provide for them," New Scientist quoted Prokosch, as saying.
For the study, the research team asked 15 college men to perform a series of tasks on camera.
The volunteers read news reports, explained why they would be a good date, and what would be the ramifications of the discovery of life on Mars.
They were also made to play Frisbee show off their physical appeal. Each potential suitor also took a quantitative test of verbal intelligence.
Later, more than 200 women were made to watch the series of these videos before rating each man's intelligence, attractiveness, creativity and appeal for a short-term or long-term relationship.
The study showed that, in potential husbands, women look for signs that a man might be a good provider and father.
However in one-night stands, women are on the prowl for little more than good genes, not to mention a good time.
Women proved to be decent judges of intelligence, with their scores generally matching each man's intelligence test results.
But Martie Haselton, an evolutionary psychologist at the University of California in Los Angeles had a different view. He revealed that although women were good judges of intelligence, they weren't perfect.
In many cases, women rated good hook-ups as dunces, when their intelligence scores indicated otherwise.
"There could be aspects of intelligence that we pick up on when we interact with a person and that affect our assessment of them, even if we wouldn't label it as intelligence," she said.
Prokosch said that looks were still a much more powerful predictor of sex appeal than brains.
"Women are still going for the hunk," Prokosch said.
"If you had an option to pick from five different people, you would pick the most attractive one," he added.
The study appears in journal Evolution and Human Behavior.Drugs rocket in AP
